How are you feeling today?

It all started with these questions - “Why do media hyper-ritualise male and female genders only? Right from the poses to colours to models to content, every bit of visual communication is gender biased. Why did we fail to be inclusive when it comes to media? Is gender binary? If not, then where are the visual languages for other genders?”  This project aims to question the conventions of media and tries to create spaces for many other genders. For the feasibility of the project, five genders were chosen and their gender cards were made which can be used to customise the visual and verbal language of a magazine as per the user’s choice. The customised content is augmented. This is a speculative project where I imagined a world with gender fluid people who got the power to customise their visual and verbal languages and not follow the binary gender norms. I personally believe that recognising and respecting choices will help us understand the humanity better.
